You cannot be perfect. It is as simple as that.
By trying to be so, you stress yourself and your surroundings. You have to let go of the idea that perfectionism is the same as striving to be your best. Perfectionism is not about growth. Mostly, perfectionism is something people use to protect themselves from criticism or a way to be loved or liked.

The problem is that it doesn’t lead to other people’s love, and it doesn’t protect them from anything. The surroundings will most often become annoyed, and that will lead to more stress.
Besides, research shows that perfectionism hampers success. It leads to too much stress, to depression, anxiety, and procrastination. Because the thing we have to do has to be perfect, we don’t dare or can’t overcome to start and then we procrastinate. We might eventually start, but at the last minute, or avoid the situation totally.
So we stress for days, weeks or months just by thinking about what we have to do and everything ends up in something not done or done in half… which leads to more stress.
Learn to make mistakes. If you learn and accept that you make mistakes, that you don’t have to be perfect, you will, at last, grow. You learn from your mistakes.
Be more compassionate towards yourself, accept that you are an imperfect human being, that you have made mistakes before and will make them again and that it will allow you to grow.
