Some foods can make you age faster due to processes like glycation, inflammation, and oxidation. These not only cause wrinkles but also affect your organs and joints.
Food #1 that ages you faster: Wheat (yes, even “whole wheat”)
Wheat contains a carbohydrate called Amylopectin-A that spikes blood sugar higher than even table sugar. High blood sugar levels lead to the production of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs), which accelerate aging. For example, two slices of whole wheat toast can spike your blood sugar to 155, compared to just 112 from a bowl of oatmeal with equivalent carbs.
Additionally, wheat-based foods can contain gluten, causing inflammation, and acrylamides, carcinogenic chemicals formed during baking, which are linked to faster aging and cancer risk.
